About the Artist: Kaylee Rae

This work comes from feeling deeply — about people, memories, grief, joy, and everything in between.

 

Each piece begins intuitively, often ends with expressive scribbles and layers of paint, letting emotion lead before structure ever shows up. The marks are raw on purpose. They’re meant to hold movement, tension, softness, and release — the kinds of feelings that don’t always have words. Creating has always helped me process and express things I didn't know how to put words to.

The name behind this business is rooted in my full name and what I remember my grandpa calling me growing up. He was also an artist and one of my earliest inspirations, although he paid the bills being an electrician. I sense his creative and curious spirit through my art all the time, along with his encouragement.

This art exists because emotions need somewhere to go. It isn’t about perfection — it’s about honesty. About capturing a moment, a feeling, or an internal state and giving it form. Some pieces are a way of processing something personal; others become a mirror where someone else feels seen.
